“The Atlanta BAR‐B‐Q Festival continues to grow each year. This year we are excited to be adding a cooking demo area that will allow BBQ enthusiasts to learn tricks from our featured teams and BBQ restaurant cooks,” Bob Herndon, event founder and Atlanta BBQ Club President, said in a release.
“Our cooking competition this year is an official Kansas City BBQ Society sanctioned event and the interest from teams from across the southeast has been overwhelming. If you like BBQ, this is the place to be.”
More than 50 BBQ teams from across the country will gather to cook up their best “Q” and compete for cash prizes, highly coveted trophies and the ultimate reward: bragging rights. Both professional and backyard amateur teams will battle to win awards in a variety of cooking categories including whole hog, ribs, chicken, pulled pork, brisket, sauce and more.
Want to try competition styled BBQ? Participating teams will be selling sample sized portions of their championship styled BBQ while supplies last for $1 per sample but get there early as these samples sell out quick. Atlanta’s top BBQ restaurants will also be on hand serving up their specialties.
The Atlanta BAR‐B‐Q Festival is fun for the whole family with live music, a cooking demo stage, an interactive Kids Area and a marketplace filled with specialty items for barbequing and backyard leisure.
