Meehan’s Public House to co-host ‘ShamRock The Station,’ Atlanta’s largest St. Patrick’s Day festival
Atlantic Station to announce ‘major headliner’ for St. Patty’s Day bash to text subscribers.
UPDATE (Feb. 15, 2012): Better Than Ezra to headline ‘ShamRock the Station’
Atlantic Station and Meehan’s Public House are teaming up March 17, to throw Atlanta’s largest St. Patrick’s Day bash — ShamRock the Station.
The first-ever event is bound to become an Atlanta tradition and make Midtown “the place to be” for St. Patrick’s Day.
Starting at noon, families can enjoy Irish dancing, games, face painting, balloon art and bagpipers. Children are invited to dress up in their finest green threads to show off their Irish spirit.
There will be premium and craft beer stations with popular drinking games also beginning at noon. Live music will begin at 5 p.m., and the night will be capped off with a fireworks display.
Stay updated on everything ShamRock the Station, including opportunities to win prizes and the announcement of a major headliner, by texting “BEER” to 34763. You can also get the details by “liking” Atlantic Station’s Facebook page.
Events will be located in and around Central Park, between Rosa Mexicano and Strip Steaks and Sushi. East District Avenue and West District Avenue will be open for pedestrian traffic only.
Meehan’s, which recently announced plans to open a restaurant in Atlantic Station, won’t officially be open for business but will have a major presence — including food and beer trucks — for attendees.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Meehan’s, which represents the kind of restaurants Midtowners told us they wanted in Atlantic Station, to create an awesome experience on St. Patrick’s Day,” said Liz Gillespie, director of marketing for Atlantic Station.
“There will be something for everyone — families, music lovers, beer enthusiasts and anyone who just enjoys a fun party.”
